Royal Palm is a Thai restaurant in the Roosevelt Neighborhood of Seattle. My fiance and I have frequented this restaurant ever since I moved to Seattle in February, 2005. We have lunch at Royal Palm at least once a week, and, occasionally, get take-out dinner whenever the urge to eat Thai strikes.
Lunchtime is a great time to try Royal Palm. Only at lunch can you get a combo meal comprised of phad thai and your choice of entree from the menu, along with jasmine rice and a "house soup" all for around $8. You will definitely be full when you leave, and you'll most likely bring home leftovers. The food at Royal Palm is really good, and their wait staff is usually very helpful. Sometimes Thai food leaves me with a stomach ache, but Royal Palm has never left me with such a sour stomach. The prices for lunch are definitely reasonable, the restaurant is located on the 2nd floor so there's a nice view of the Roosevelt neighborhood, and the service is faster than any other restaurant I know.
On the negative side, we've seen this restaurant attempt to improve its look, raise its prices, and go through a wait-staff change. I personally liked the "old" Royal Palm much better, because their improvements included new restaurant dicor, new glassware, and new menus and after these "improvements" prices went up at least $1 per meal. The old wait-staff was much friendlier and more concerned with customer service. Still, I can't complain about the price, or the food, and I recommend this restaurant anytime someone asks me about a good Thai restaurant.
